Statement of Faith

The Bible

The whole of the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments as originally given, are the verbally inspired Word of God, supreme in authority and completely free from error.

The Trinity

There is one true God, who exists as three persons. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are the same in substance and equal in power and glory. They are three distinct persons, but one God.

Jesus

Our Lord Jesus Christ, full in deity and also perfect in humanity, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died a substitutionary death, was resurrected bodily and ascended to heaven.

Satan

The Devil is personal in nature and in his desire to draw people away from God. His doom is sure.

Sin

All people are fallen, sinful and in a lost state.

Salvation

God has provided full salvation from the punishment and power of sin through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. All who are willing receive it by repentance towards the God and faith in Jesus.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a real person who works in the immediate regeneration of believers and in their sanctification.

Return of Jesus

Jesus Christ will return personally, visibly and bodily. This return is imminent.

Eternal Destinies

A person has everlasting consciousness: believers unto the resurrection of the body, the renewal of the whole creation and the everlasting fellowship and joy of the saved; unbelievers unto the everlasting punishment of the lost and the final judgment of all people.

Church

The church is God's chosen people and priesthood, the company of all believers born of the Holy Spirit, and formed into one body of which Christ is the head.

Two Ordinances

The two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ are a Scriptural requirement upon all believers. The first ordinance, baptism, is for believers and is a water rite that symbolizes cleansing from sin. The second ordinance, the Lord's Supper or communion, is also for believers and is a memorial of the sacrifice of Jesus.

Marriage

God made humans male and female, equal in God's image. Marriage is between a man and a woman, to typify the union between Christ and his church.
